Letter to Representative Fredericka Wilson
Dear Congresswoman Wilson,
I was alarmed to read in the Miami Herald that there are organized protests against you because of your support for Israel.
So, our counsel Sam Dubbin sent a letter to the editors of the Herald and the Sun Sentinel earlier this week on my behalf. Amy Driscoll told Sam she will publish the letter, probably on Sunday.
We wanted you to know personally how grateful the Holocaust survivor community, the Jewish community, and I are for your long-standing friendship and support. If we can be of service to you at any time, please let us know.
Here is the letter:
To the Editors:
As a Holocaust Survivor, Miami resident for over 65 years, and president of the Holocaust Survivors Foundation USA, I want to extend our gratitude to Congresswoman Fredericka Wilson for her steadfast support for the State of Israel. She understands America's and Israel's shared values and interests in democracy and the rule of law. It is sad that Rep. Wilson is being attacked for supporting essential military aid for Israel to defend itself against Hamas and other deadly threats from Iran and its proxies. The South Florida Holocaust Survivor community and Jewish community have been proud to work in solidarity with Rep. Wilson for many years on combating hatred and other human rights issues. She, along with the entire South Florida Congressional delegation, deserves praise for standing up against the inaccurate and indefensible accusations of "genocide" and other libels against Israel.
David Schaecter,
President, Holocaust Survivors Foundation USA
